Advances in Nurse Science Blog
The Advances in Nurse Science Blog is tied to a nursing publication that comes out four times a year (appropriately titled Advances in Nursing Science). The blog allows readers to discuss big issues that are mentioned in ANS so that they can understand and expand upon these ideas. The ANS journal was founded back in 1978 by Peggy L. Chinn, RN, PhD, FAAN. It has been in publication ever since, but the blog was a much more recent addition to the ANS world. Reality RN
Reality RN is a pretty interesting blog because it is run entirely by new nurses. Diversity Nursing offers a number of helpful articles and services for nursing professionals. Sarah Beth RN
As you may have guessed, Sarah Beth RN is a blog for a registered nurse named Sarah Beth. Sarah Beth wanted to explore how up and coming nurses were changing the face of healthcare through the use of technology, social media, and the internet as a whole. She started blogging back in 2011, but she was soon hit with terrible news. She was diagnosed with a rare and debilitating autoimmune disease called CIDP, as well as autoimmune autonomic neuropathy. Infusion Nurse is a blog run by none other than – you guessed it – an infusion nurse. The blogger chooses to keep her identity a secret, but she does reveal that she is a certified registered nurse in infusion (CRNI) who is board certified in vascular access (VA-BC). The Infusion Nurse blog covers specific information about working in this sector of healthcare, but it is one of the only sites online that discusses infusions in depth. According to Kateri
According to Kateri is a very personal blog run by an RN named Kateri. She currently works in pediatric intensive care, and she uses her blog to vent about her struggles and triumphs in her career. Meta4RN
Meta4RN is a blog run by a registered nurse named Paul McNamara. Paul is a decorated professional who has worked in a number of nursing specialties, and he uses his blog to help educate and communicate with other nurses in Australia. Paul saw a movement of nurses who were starting to make changes in healthcare with the power of social media. He wanted to be a part of that movement. This Nurse Wonders is authored by Amanda Anderson, an RN in New York City who works in intensive care. The Underside of Nursing
The Underside of Nursing is an incredibly unique blog authored under the username Fibril_late. We say this blog is unique because it doesn’t tell the typical story you might read in other nurse musings.
