They are the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). When you start comparing medical assistant schools in North Dakota, keep those names in mind. You can be confident about your education if you attend the right school from the start.

After you earn your associate of science in medical assisting, you will need to complete a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam. This is not a requirement for work, but it will give you the best chance of finding a high paying job. There are versions of this exam from both the National Healthcare Association and the American Association of Medical Assistants.
