There are two organizations that are known for accrediting online the best medical assistant schools in the country. They are the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). When you start comparing medical assistant schools in North Dakota, keep those names in mind. You can be confident about your education if you attend the right school from the start.

After you earn your associate of science in medical assisting, you will need to complete a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam. This is not a requirement for work, but it will give you the best chance of finding a high paying job. There are versions of this exam from both the National Healthcare Association and the American Association of Medical Assistants. If you pay close attention to the lessons taught in school, passing an exam like this shouldn’t be a problem.

In the entire state of North Dakota, there are only 410 medical assistants. This state has one of the lowest concentrations of medical assistants in the country, only 24% of what most states average. While there may not be a lot of medical assistant jobs in North Dakota, the ones that are available pay pretty well. You can expect to earn around $14.36 an hour here, which would be a little under $30,000 a year if you work full time. Fargo, Bismarck, and Grand Forks have the most job opportunities for medical assistants, but you can find work no matter where you live. Just enroll in a medical assistant school you can trust, and you’ll have a high paying job in no time.
